Purchasing Manager 2013
Oversees and manages all activities related to the procurement of routine, critical and strategic commodities, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
Direct responsibility for managing limited strategic commodities.
Responsible for supervising employees within the purchasing department.
Design, implement, and manage procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
Negotiates and/or supervises the negotiation of quality, price, delivery and service for commodities, equipment and supplies with suppliers.
Participate on teams, both departmental and cross-functional for the purpose of problem solving and continuous improvement.
Updates and/or maintains purchasing ISO 9000 procedures and work instructions in accordance with the ISO standard and quality guidelines.
Responsible for overseeing supplier selection and monitoring supplier activities and performance.
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university
Minimum -3-5 years of purchasing experience - preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Previous supervisory and team leadership experience required.
Comprehensive and diversified supply chain experience that ranges from routine commodities (such as office supplies) to strategic and critical commodities (such as electronics and custom machined/fabricated products).
Experience with Logistics a plus.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 preferred.Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Products required.
